Terms
These terms cover your use of edunews.ca, published by The Iron Lantern Group.
Agreement
By using the site or subscribing to the briefing you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Who may use the site
Anyone may read edunews.ca. To get the email briefing you need an address you can receive mail at, and you must confirm it. A school board's use of the site under a licence is covered by a signed licence agreement instead.
What the summaries are
The stories are summaries written by an AI editor from headlines and snippets, not from the full articles. Each one links to the original report, and publishers own their articles.
Please check each summary against the linked source before you rely on or quote it.
No warranty
The site and the briefing are provided as they are. There is no warranty that the summaries are accurate or complete, or that the site or the briefing will always be available.
Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, our liability to you for any claim about the site is limited to the fees you have paid us for it. While the site is free, that is nothing.
Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario) or another law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
What you may not do
- Do not scrape the site or its data in bulk.
- Do not resell or republish the briefings as your own.
- Do not try to break, overload or get around the protections of the site.
Sharing a link, or quoting a summary and crediting its source, is fine.
Ending a subscription or your use
You can end your subscription at any time with the unsubscribe link in every briefing. We can end or suspend a subscription or access to the site if these terms are broken or if the briefing stops, and we will say so by email where we can.
Quebec
edunews.ca is published in English from Ontario. Quebec boards appear in our lists for completeness, but subscriptions for Quebec boards are closed and the site is not offered as a service in Quebec until a French-language version and the privacy assessment Quebec law requires are in place.
Law and courts
These terms follow the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario decide any dispute about them.
How these terms change
We may change these terms. The current version is always on this page. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
